There is something about a photo session that makes the whole day feel a little more glamourous. I do not know if it is the little extra make-up, maybe false lashes, the attention your hair wishes it received more often, the new, oh so flattering dress, or maybe you just know as you catch your reflection in the lens..."I’m gonna look good and I’m gonna put this on my wall." 

My dear friend Kelly Beane, a graduate of Oklahoma School of Photography, has photographed me between 5 - 10 pounds over my comfortable weight and when I have been in my best shape. I treasure both sets of pictures and proudly show them off. Kelly was probably pleased with my better shape also, meaning she had less editing. Really, though, I have seen her edit photos and she captures images in a way that requires little retouching. She knows what she is doing behind a camera! 

The point I am trying to make is a great photographer can create great pictures. She will find the right angles and the best light to accentuate you! Great pictures are one of the things in my life that really make me feel good about myself. Taking that a step further, another great trick is putting those skinny pictures on my refrigerator, so, I think twice before opening the door.

Spring and summer are typically most photographer's busiest time of the year, but now is the time to think about booking family portraits for when wedding season begins winding to a close. Think about it...if you have been reading my summer reviews, trying new spa treatments to kick off your summer workout regime, and piecing together your wardrobe based on my trend research you will be ready to shoot some great looks by early fall for mantel quality Christmas cards, an awesome “framer” for the office, a rockin’ facebook profile pic, or a beautiful captured moment prominently displayed in your home.

I would like to highlight some of Kelly’s work, tell you a little bit about her and give you her contact information just in case you love her work as much as I do. I was a friend that became a client, but I can see how you could easily be a client that becomes a friend to Kelly. She has a naturally radiant sweet demeanor that you will feel before she ever says a word and when she does speak you know she truly cares about your best interests.

Kelly does all of her photo sessions on location in early morning or just before dusk to achieve the best natural light. She invites the clients to get creative with the location and not only limit it to their home, for instance, but also their favorite places: an ice cream shop or the lake. This allows for a candid appearance of the client’s personality. Ultimately, as you can see, she loves to see the client being themselves and enjoying the shoot.

Here is Kelly’s personal philosophy, she says it much better than I could:

I love creating beautiful and artistic photographs for people. However, the relationships built throughout the process is what really makes me tick. I am constantly inspired by the individuals I come across in this business and find it a true blessing I get to capture the most important and special moment's for families to cherish forever. I get to make a living at following a deep passion of mine, it doesn't get much better than that!

Portrait sessions start at $300 and include a 1-1.5 hour on-location shoot, 30-40 images fully retouched on disc and an online ordering gallery. Collections, including prints and products, start at $600. Additional products include: all types and sizes of prints, canvas gallery wraps, custom designed coffee table books, holiday cards, and baby and senior announcements.

Kelly loves to shoot modern, artistic weddings and portraits. She additionally covers maternity, newborns, babies, children, seniors and families, as well as weddings, engagements, bridals and boudoir...and she does a lovely professional job in each different session type.
